The server runs a small image classifier on each card picture. Every value below is between 0 and 1 (higher = stronger confidence). Saved settings apply to real uploads; use Test scan to try an image without storing it.
- Manual real: Local model “real photo” at or above this → Sightengine runs; uploads are not blocked locally. Auto-deny only if local and Sightengine agree (see Max disagreement).
- Max disagreement: If
|local real − Sightengine photo|is greater than this, the card goes to moderation instead of auto-deny. - Anime clear: “Anime / stylized” must reach at least this to count as clearly drawn art.
- Uncertain min real: If anime is below Anime clear and “real photo” is at least this, send to moderation for an uncertain-style check. If “real” is lower, the upload is treated as stylized enough to pass.
If these settings are missing in the database, the server falls back to BOTBOORU_IMAGE_STYLE_* environment variables instead.
original_prose / ai_assisted)
Meta original_prose applies when the composite score is strictly below the cutoff;
ai_assisted applies from the cutoff upward (inclusive). Legacy mild_slop / slop are removed on sync. Existing posts pick up the new rule when edited, backfilled, or on the next tag sync.
After normalizing names (lowercase, letters/digits only), tags with the same fingerprint always group together. For different fingerprints, pair only if both are at least the minimum length and their similarity % (based on edit distance vs longer string) meets the threshold. Use 100% for exact-normalized matches only; lower values catch more typos.
Registration is controlled by the BOTBOORU_REGISTRATION_ENABLED environment variable; remove it to use this toggle.
Grays out the upload control and blocks new uploads and card/image updates until turned off.
Greys out the bulk-upload button for everyone who normally has it (staff included). Single uploads keep working. Useful during traffic surges.
Lower this to ease people back into bulk uploads after a surge (e.g. 10 or 20). Total batch is always capped at 100 MB regardless.
Caps how many post, tag, and random requests an anonymous visitor can make in one minute. Set well above any human (default 300/min). Logged-in users always bypass. With 6 workers in production the effective cap is up to 6x this value, which is the deliberate slack so real users never trip it. Turn the toggle off to disable the cap entirely.
Owner-managed in addition to the hardcoded reserved list (admin, owner, mod, staff, system, botbooru, …). Patterns are case-insensitive. Use exact for a whole-username match (e.g. impersonation names) or substring to ban anything containing the pattern (e.g. slurs).
Drives the Ko-fi card on the in-site /donate page. Leave blank to hide it. "Pause" keeps the URL saved but hides the card on /donate (useful if Ko-fi temporarily suspends your page).
Shown in the first-time upload notice. If empty, the site uses a default public guide link until you set one.
Absolute path on the server where character card images are stored (e.g. your NAS mount). Leave blank to use the default data/images/ folder. Takes effect immediately; existing images must be moved manually.
Data maintenance
One-off scans to fix or recompute stored data. New jobs are registered in
backend/app/utils/admin_maintenance.py.
Slop: Meta original_prose / ai_assisted use the EQ-Bench cutoff in Site settings (default 15). Legacy backfill is owner-only and uses batched Node runs.
